The Fairfield County Chapter of SCORE®, Counselors to America’s Small Business, is partnering with the Library to offer free, one-on-one counseling for current and prospective entrepreneurs.

Drop-in program. A lapsit storytime for babies 0-18 months and their parent or caregiver with songs, rhymes, and group reading (pre-walkers). Tickets will be handed out 30 minutes before the program begins. Space is limited. 

Children ages 2.5-4 and their caregiver will engage in stories, songs and activities that will help foster beginning reader skills.

The Fairfield Public Library is pleased to once again be able to offer no cost, full service tax preparation assistance through VITA, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service.

Full STEAM Ahead is a centers-based program designed for children 3-5 years of age.

Join us for some jumping, jiggling, rhyming, singing, and stories! For children 24-35 months. Tickets will be handed out 30 minutes before the program begins. Drop-in program. Space is limited.

Whether you are an advanced knitter or just learning, this is a great group to join. Crocheters are welcome, too. Individual projects, group projects, and friendships are knit together each week. This group is for adults age 18 and over.

Come to Fairfield University to meet a rescue donkey and hear about Ray of Light Farm’s rescue efforts and animal therapy programs. Ray of Light Farm in East Haddam, CT is both an animal rescue and animal therapy farm.

Let’s have a winter family picnic together! We will celebrate the Rainbow and stand up to bullying (wear pink). Bring your lunch and enjoy a story together. We will have oversized games and crafts for all to enjoy.

The 2020 Census is approaching next year. The Census has full and part time opportunities available in our community and will be at the library to recruit interested adults looking for work.

Come and relive your childhood in your favorite borough the Bronx. The presentation will include over 450 vintage Bronx slides, video clips of The Bronx during the decades of the 40s-60s, and dozens of Bronx celebrity interviews.

Through stories, music, activities and more, this weekly class helps to develop both the motor and social skills necessary for kindergarten readiness.

Grades 6 and up: On Mondays we craft! Materials are available on a first-come basis.

Grades 6 and up: Every Tuesday we will be setting up the Nintendo Switch or XBOX One for group gaming or use one of our laptops from our mobile computer lab to game online with a group of your friends.

Grades 6 and up. Join us in the downUNDER on Wednesdays for a hands-on activity guaranteed to get you thinking.

Connecticut has many colorful spring wildflowers but many are ephemerals and bloom for only a short time, then disappear. Learn when and where to look for these  delicate flowers with Barbara and Peter Rzasa.

Join us once a month for some hands-on fun with littleBits™! Participants will have the opportunity to explore and experiment with littleBits™, electronic building blocks for creating inventions large and small.

Explore your creative side while gaining some knowledge of Science! Join us as we make crafts based on scientific fundamentals.

For children in grades 3-5. 

 3, 2, 1…Action! Do you like being dramatic? Come shine at our Story Studio where we will act out stories together! Participate in fun drama activities and use your imagination and props to bring a story to life.

Interested in role-playing games? Join us to learn the basics of Dungeons & Dragons, a fantasy tabletop role-playing game!

Get ready for a hands-on discovery storytime! You will create, experiment, or explore with a with a hands-on activity related to the story of the day. Registration is required for each session.

Let’s become Paper Engineers together! In this class, we will discover new ways to make our art pop, twirl and move. We will explore the world of pop-up books and learn the engineering behind this art of storytelling.

Discover and strengthen your observational, technological, building, crafty, and mathematical skills in our Dive into STEAM program.

Do you love designing with Lego® bricks? Are you inspired by tall buildings, fancy cars or animals?

Are you a fan of the Dog Man series or interested in it? Join us to celebrate this great series by Dav Pilkey! Play games and participate in activities inspired by the books. For children in grades 2-5. 

Join our chess club! We supply the chess boards, you provide the competition. This volunteer-led program for all ages will meet weekly and is for intermediate players who have played the game previously.

Do you get stressed by the mess? This program will address why we have clutter and how to deal with it. Learn how to create finished, organized systems in order to be more productive.

Fairfield Senior Advocates will be discussing the pursuit of senior-friendly housing solutions for current and future seniors in Fairifeld. 

This discussion group has been meeting regularly at the Library for a few years. The purpose of the group is to provide a safe space where issues of race can be discussed and where healing racism can begin.
