Program Description

Description

During this time of social distancing, we can get our kids together, apart! In collaboration with the Fairfield Public Library, The Hangout Spot brings its traditional developmental playgroup to a screen near you. In this sampling of their services, The Hangout Spot provides a mini developmental playgroup facilitated by their Board Certified Behavior Analysts. A focus is placed on music and movement, toy play, people play, circle time, and more--all the skills our little friends need to continue their social learning. Participants will be given a list of needed materials in advance of the session (all of which are commonly found around the home). The first 30 minutes will be reserved for playtime, followed by a 15 minute Parent Q&A where their Behavior Analysts answer your questions related to all things play and social.

For children ages 2-5 with their parent or caregiver. Registration is required. This event will be hosted through Zoom, a virtual meeting service. Prior to the event, participants must complete The Hangout Spot's consent to participate form to receive the Zoom Room Link. Space is limited.

*For the safety of all our patrons, we need to be aware of who is joining. We ask that you please use your actual name when joining our events through Zoom.

The Hangout Spot is Connecticut’s first behavior analytic social skills development center, providing specialized play and social skills instruction through thoughtfully structured, experiential teaching delivered in small group settings. The Hangout Spot's evidence-based programs are designed to eliminate barriers to friendship, such as technology-based social isolation, shyness, bullying and other challenges, and empower children to be socially successful throughout their lives.
