Description
Mark Schenker returns for another installment of his “How To Read A Film“ series, focusing this time on four American films from 1975–1976 celebrating their 50th Anniversary:
9/8: Nashville by Robert Altman
9/22: Dog Day Afternoon by Sidney Lumet
10/6: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Miloš Forman
10/20: Taxi Driver by Martin Scorsese
The 1970s is now known for a remarkable fate of commercial and critical successes in cinema: Barry Lyndon, Apocalypse Now, Young Frankenstein, American Graffiti, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and five movies that went on to have multiple instruments of sequels: Star Wars, The Godfather, Jaws, Rocky, and Alien.
We will focus on the four films that Mark has chosen in the context of their directors work, and the decade in which they were released, one of the most significant in Hollywood history.
