Program Description

Description

Children in grades 1-3 are invited to take turns reading to a trained therapy dog from ROAR (Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue). Reading to a therapy dog is a great way to boost reading skills in children, develop emotional and social skills, and encourage a love of reading! Please bring a favorite book to read or pick one out in the Library before the event.

For children in grades 1-3. Registration is required and is separate for each event date. This event is offered at the Main Library and Fairfield Woods Branch Library at the same time. Please only register for one event each month and note which Library you registered with. Parents or caregivers may attend the event with their child if they would like. Parents or caregivers not attending the event must remain in the Library during it. Space is limited. Registration opens three weeks before each event date.
