Program Description

Description

Our dependence on plastic products has led to widespread environmental pollution, with plastic found at the most pristine corners of the planet and even inside of our bodies. Environmental health scientists and Fairfield residents Drs. Sarah Evans and Sofia Curdumi Pendley will share the latest science about how plastics and the chemicals they contain—including hormone disruptors and other harmful substances found in food packaging, drinking water, and household products—can affect our health. They'll share simple, actionable steps that individuals and communities can take to reduce harmful plastic exposures and advocate for safer alternatives.

This program is presented in partnership with Sustainable Fairfield.
