While there are many different ways to finance higher education, parents often feel like they need to choose between risking their retirement or burying their children in debt. This presentation explores efficient ways to save for college, the difference between federal and institutional financial aid, different types of funding and grants, alternative payment options, high income household planning, new 2019 tax changes, and strategies to find a college that fits your budget. For parents and teens.

Presenters:
Sean Flynn of Essex Financial, The Southport Group, is a Certified College Planning Specialist (CCPS) and a financial advisor with more than 14 years of experience. Sean has been featured in Kiplinger’s, U.S. News and World Report, Investor’s Business Daily, Financial Advisor magazine, and other financial periodicals. He is a graduate of Fairfield University.

Sean Martin is the Director of aid for Connecticut College. Sean has 25 years of experience in high education - including 10 years in college athletics as Assistant Athletic Director at Fairfield University and Boston College. Worked for the last 15 in financial aid and enrollment management at Wesleyan University and Connecticut College, where he served as Director of Financial Aid for the last 5 years.
