Description
After opening in 1964, Fiddler on the Roof became perhaps one of the most unlikely success stories in Broadway history.Though it was destined to be the first show to have a run exceeding 3000 performances, producers were initially skeptical about bringing this to the theater, with the broad sentiment that a show set in the Pale of Settlement of Imperial Russia was “too Jewish” for theatergoers. Since the premier, Fiddler has enjoyed perennial popularity, with countless tours, revivals, community, and international productions. Join Professor Gil Harel as he takes us inside the score of this beloved musical!
