Virtual: History of Ireland in Song

In this multi-media presentation, Kevin Westley will discuss subjects of Irish history and sing or play the songs, by Irish entertainers, related to these subjects.  Hear songs and stories about the Battle of Glenmalure (1580), the Wearing of the Green, Penal Laws, the Great Hunger, Irish and American Wakes, American Civil War and more.

Presenter Kevin Westley T.M.R.F. has performed as a singer for over 30 years, including at the Cell Theater in NYC for Artists Without Walls.  In 2014, he competed in the adult male singing competition in the All Ireland Final Championship in Sligo.  He also produced and broadcasted That’s How I Spell Ireland for 5 years on WRHU at Hofstra University.  He is certified to teach Irish dance (Ceili) and has written a book on that subject.
