Program Description

Description

Join us virtually or in person as presenter Claire Evans explores the background of the most lucrative corporate venture the world has ever known and the product it brought to the West. For all its genteel connotations, the history of tea is steeped in espionage, rebellion, and the rise of an Empire. With a nod to the popular “Bridgerton” series, learn how tea infused British society from top to bottom and what to expect should you ever find yourself at afternoon tea.

Claire Evans will join us virtually and the program will be broadcast at the Fairfield Woods Branch Library for those who wish to join us, others may view online from home.  Whatever method you choose, you may change your mind up to the last minute.  All will be sent the link to the zoom and of course all are welcome in the Caroline Platt Walsh room.
