The daughter of Holocaust Survivors, speaker Bobbi Markowitz's mother was liberated from Auschwitz Concentration Camp and her Father from Dachau. This is the story of their journeys from Eastern Europe to Nazi Germany, their overwhelming losses, and miraculous survivals. Their fortitude, resilience and patience led them to ultimately settle in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. (where the speaker was born)
Presenter: Bobbi Markowitz emigrated to the United States from Canada when she married her husband, a U.S. Citizen in 1970. Her 25 year career as a journalist in Fairfield County gave her the opportunity to meet and interview interesting and dynamic people. She contributed to local, regional and national publications including the New York Times on human interest subjects from Design, and Architecture, to Business and Celebrity profiles. She's been a Realtor with Coldwell Banker for 22 years, guiding and advising clients on the best way to navigate the buying and selling process.
She and her husband live in Fairfield, have two married children and two grandchildren.
