Explore the intersection of science, innovation, and society with our ‘Introduction to DNA Ancestry Testing’ program. Technological developments in genetics have enabled people to become more informed healthcare consumers and connected to their extended family around the globe. This program explores genetic testing for ancestry and family history purposes. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss the questions, challenges, and benefits of bringing genetic technologies into their lives.

Our presenter, Gillian McNeil is a genetics specialist and public engagement associate for the Personal Genetics Education & Dialogue (PGED) at Harvard Medical School. Gillian creates educational products that reach teachers nationwide and facilitates community programs at venues across New England. She is passionate about communicating creatively and ethically about science. Gillian earned her B.S. in molecular biology and M.S. in healthcare genetics from UConn.
