The Seed to Seed Library at Fairfield Woods is back! Register to pick up seeds on Friday, April 9, April 16, April 23, April 30, and/or May 7, 2021.
The Seed to Seed Library catalog has been growing, thanks to seed donations, but we still need your help to revamp our goals and spread the word.
Registered patrons may "borrow" up to 10 seed varieties and will receive ten seeds of each variety. The "borrowed" seeds are lent to you in hope that you will enjoy gardening and picking the fruits of your hard labor. At harvest time, please take some extra steps to save seeds for others. We’d like you to return, to the library, a portion of the seeds you have saved. The more seeds in the library, the more members of the community can experience the pleasures of growing their own food from local seeds.
Register for the date you would like to pick up your seeds. You may register for more than one date if you would like more seeds. Once you have registered you will receive an e-mail with a form to fill out where you will pick your seed varieties. Your seeds will be collected and ready for pickup inside the Fairfield Woods Branch Library from 10am- 12pm on the Friday you registered for. If you are unable to pick up your seeds on the registered date, please e-mail email@example.com or call 203-255-7308 or they will passed on to another patron. Varieties available include: Carrots, Squash, Peas, Basil, Kale, Radish, Chive, Turnip, Dill, Mustard Green, Green Onion, Herbs, Flowers, and more!

Established in 2011, our goal is to have every household in Fairfield plant a garden. We are committed to increasing community awareness of the benefits of gardening and saving seeds through education that will foster community resilience, self-reliance and a culture of sharing.
