Program Description

Description

Join us to enjoy a summer full of wild and fantastical fun through this series of virtual classes! Each week’s class will explore a different topic through activities inspired by this year’s Summer Reading theme: Tails and Tales.

All registered participants will need to pick up a bag of supplies in the Children's Department that will be used to complete the class’s activity. Supply pickup for the take and make will be at either the Main Library (1080 Old Post Road) or the Fairfield Woods Branch Library (1147 Fairfield Woods Road). Please see below for specific details on where to pick up the supply bag.

This event will be hosted through Zoom, a virtual meeting service. You will need to download the Zoom app onto your Android/Apple device or the Zoom program onto your computer. Participants will receive a reminder e-mail with the event’s unique Zoom meeting ID information, which they will need to join from home.

Registration is required and is separate for each class each week. Please only register for one of the class dates each week since the same class is offered four times (In person/outside at the Woods Branch at 4:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday; virtual on Zoom at 11:00 am on Wednesday; and supply pickup only (no live class) at 2:00 pm on Thursday). Space is limited. Registration opens on Monday, July 12.

*For the safety of all our patrons, we need to be aware of who is joining. We ask that you please use your child’s first name when joining our events through Zoom.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 4: LION NOTEHOLDER

Did you know that the roar of a lion can be heard from 5 miles away? Join us to learn about lions and create your own lion noteholder! We will practice basic paper quilling techniques to make special manes for our lions.

To do the activity, you will need to provide your own black pen and glue stick. Other necessary supplies will be provided in the supply bag.

For children entering grades K-5. Registration is required.

**PICKUP FOR SUPPLIES FOR THIS CLASS:

Tuesday, August 3 from 2:00-5:00 pm in the Children's Department at the Main Library only (1080 Old Post Road, Fairfield, CT 06824)
