Program Description

Description

Macramé was a large textile surge popular in the 1970s, contraptions for hanging plants, belts, bags, and other accessories favored by bohemians. The origin of macramé actually stretches back to the 13th century at least and is based on a simple structure: the knot. Carried on through the centuries by sailors passing time on long voyages, this type of fiber art is making a steady comeback. Join us virtually to learn to macramé a feather for your wall or your valentine.

Register to pick up your Macramé Feather Take & Make kit to take home with you and on Friday, February 12, 2021 we can craft together via Zoom, a virtual meeting service. You will need to download the Zoom app onto your Android/Apple device or the Zoom program onto your computer. Registrants will receive an e-mail with the Zoom meeting id information in the reminder e-mail.

Through curbside pick-up, registered patrons can pick up their Macramé Feather Take & Make kits on Wednesday, February 10, from 12-2pm or 4-5pm at the Fairfield Woods Branch Library only (1147 Fairfield Woods Road, Fairfield, CT 06825).

*For the safety of all our patrons, we need to be aware of who is joining. We ask that you please use your actual name when joining our events through Zoom.

If the class is full and you do not require any materials, email jstevens@fplct.org for registration.
