Join us for a musical performance by the Lions Gate Trio, the Library's trio-in-residence, featuring Darrett Adkins on cello, Katie Lansdale on violin, and Florence Millet on piano. Light and Matter will feature extraordinary works for violin, cello and piano, moving from the levity of Haydn to the magnificent gravitas of Brahms. The centerpiece of the program will be the late Kaija Saaariaho's Light and Matter, a dazzling sonic experience which combines the magic of the minute with spacious expanse.
Refreshments will be served and there will be a chance to meet the musicians after the performance.
