Description

Please join us for our Fall Soundwaves concert, Fire & Fantasy:  The Extraordinary Music of Robert Schumann, as performed by the Lions Gate Trio.  Nearly 200 years after his death, Schumann's music is more beloved than ever--as irresistable as it is quixotic, endlessly inventive and imaginative, alternately tender and titanic.  Take a magical journey with the performers through the disparate worlds of two of his piano trios: the famed F Major Trio No. 2, which combines the sweet dances of otherworldly ghosts with capricious counterpoint, and the D Minor Trio No. 1, with its soulful opening sounds that transform to stormy passion and end in joyful celebration. 

Lions Gate Trio is Darrett Adkins on cello, Katie Lansdale on violin, and Florence Millet on piano.  Stay after the performance for a chance to meet the musicians; light refreshments will be served.
