Program Description
Description
By 1987, Stephen Sondheim had racked up one of the most impressive resumes in the history of the Broadway canon. In addition to scoring numerous award-winning shows, he had also established himself as one of the great lyricists of the 20th century (indeed, while Bernstein wrote the music, it was Sondheim who provided the lyrics for West Side Story). Into the Woods presents the audience with a story that interweaves aspects of various fairy tales, including those involving Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, and more. Framed by an ambitious score, the musical tackles timeless themes including maturation, wish fulfillment, and how family shapes our lives. Join us for this delightful, music-filled program!
