Come and meet the student artists behind our 'Cardboard Zoo'!
The creatures you've seen stalking the bookshelves of the Main Library were designed by ninth-grade students of Virginia Zimmermann's 3-D Foundations class at Fairfield Ludlowe High School. Using paper, recycled cardboard and glue guns, the students created the large, three-dimensional animals over a six-week period. They were required to use principles of anatomy, structural engineering and 3-D design to construct the magnificent creatures you see, including a vibrant grasshopper, majestic moose, and life-like hippo.
Please view the various animals in our Adult Reading Room, Main Lobby, Teen Room and Children's Room, and then come by and meet the artists at 6:00pm on March 9 in our Periodicals Room. Light refreshments will be served.
