Program Description

Description

Destination Healthy Skin is The Skin Cancer Foundation’s mobile skin cancer screening and education program. Since its launch, the program’s team of volunteer dermatologists has:

  • Provided 32,000 free skin cancer screenings
  • Identified nearly 13,000 potential skin cancers and precancers, including 615 suspected melanomas.
  • Distributed free skin cancer educational materials and sun protection products to more than 109,000 people.

The 38-foot Destination Healthy Skin RV is equipped with two private exam rooms where volunteer dermatologists perform screenings. In our waiting area, program managers answer questions and distribute skin cancer early detection and prevention information.

Program Benefits:

  • Free, full body skin exams
  • Exams performed by licensed dermatologists
  • No appointment necessary
  • Convenient mobile screening facility
  • Free skin cancer educational materials
  • Free sun protection products

Skin cancer screenings take place in our Destination Healthy Skin RV, which is equipped with two private exam rooms. You’ll be given a brief form to fill out while you wait for your turn. Then you’ll be shown into an exam room and provided with a gown to change into. When you’re ready, the dermatologist will come into the room and examine your skin from head-to-toe. The doctor will note the findings on your form and make recommendations for next steps.

Please note that screenings are provided on a first-come, first served basis and subject to dermatologist availability. The exam itself takes approximately ten minutes.

Drop in. No registration required.
