Program Description

Description

For some, mermaids represent freedom and beauty. Others are attracted to their lore and how they signify finding contentment and celebrating one’s own unique self and body.  Whatever the allure, many harbor a secret wish to experience a mermaid’s life. Make that wish a reality by joining fashion designer Jennifer Butler to design and create your own mermaid tail.  After you’ve completed your tail, you can bring it back to the Main library on February 1 and take a turn modeling it with Stonewall Award-winning author Jessica Love in our Mermaid Parade.  Materials provided. Sewing experience helpful, but not required. Registration is required.  Grades 4 and up. This event is part of our Stonewall 50 program series celebrating Pride in our community.
