Program Description

Description

A wild and crazy work and life story unlike anything you’ve ever read-until cancer f*cked everything up Jonathan Schwartz, a punk rock kid, cut his teeth in the entertainment in New York’s legendary Bowery and beyond. He spent nearly three decades as managing director of Washington Square Films and became a devoted husband and father of two. Things took a devastating turn when he discovered from a dental visit that he had Stage 4 lymphoma only two days after his mother unexpectedly passed away. In the F*ck Cancer book launch, Jonathan's friends share hilarious stories about his unconventional past from this posthumous memoir. Stories about the classic punk rock scene and family life intertwined with his experiences collaborating with some of the world’s top creative talent-including legend comic filmmaker Tom Schiller, creative director Gerry Graf at Slap Global, and the Martin Agency-and then comes cancer.

Read about how Jonathan...

  • Got so pissed off at Bryan Adams that they ended up in an altercation.
  • Produced years’ worth of successful videos for Apple during the Steve Jobs era at the height of the recession.
  • Ended up playing a video game camera man in a commercial with A’s MoneyBall players Barry Zito, Eric Chavez and Scott Hatteberg.
  • Faced a bombardment of successive health issues including Stage 4 lymphoma and brain cancer.

F*ck Cancer is an edgy, one-of-kind work that proves anyone’s life can get f*cked up at any time.
