Program Description

Description

Please join Fairfield Public Library for an afternoon of music and poetry with local opera singer Stefano Russo. Mr. Russo will perform songs of the season, accompanied by pianist Jacob Wang, followed by selections from Puccini, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Italian composer's death.  There will then be a reading from Mr. Russo's latest book of poetry, Beyond the Chains of the Mind, and one final aria performed by Mr. Russo to conclude the program.  Autographed books will be available for purchase.

Stefano Russo was born in Rome, Italy, where he discovered his passion for music at a young age.  He studied with Ermenegildo Corsini, tenor with the Sistine Chapel Choir, and with the international soprano Enrica Guarini.  He performed in Italy for many years before moving to the U.S., where he began to write poetry as well.  His first collection of poems, in Italian, was published in 2017.
